TV SOURCE MAGAZINE: ‘The Bay’ Goes Back Into Production After Scoring Five Emmy Nods

Following its Emmy win for Outstanding New Approaches Drama Series last year at the 42nd Annual Daytime Emmy Awards, LANY Entertainment is excited to announce The Bay has received 5 new Daytime Emmy nominations this year for the 43rd Annual Daytime Emmy Awards. The Bay is nominated for Outstanding Digital Daytime Drama Series. Mary Beth Evans (Sara Garrett), Lilly Melgar (Janice Ramos), and Patsy Pease (Lola Baker) are nominated for Outstanding Actress in a Digital Daytime Drama Series as well as Kristos Andrews (Pete Garrett) for Outstanding Actor in a Digital Daytime Drama Series. The winners will be announced at the Creative Arts Emmys on Friday, April 29th.

Fans of NBC’s Days of our Lives knew when they witnessed the scenes where Kayla (Mary Beth Evans) tells her brother Bo (Peter Reckell) that he is dying that it was a moment that touched, resonated, and would be remembered for years to come, both by the audience and its portrayers.

The mighty Evans is also in the running as Outstanding Actress in a Digital Series for her role of Sara Garrett in The Bay.  And since the series was also nominated, Mary Beth also landed a nod as one of the producers for the online soapy drama. (An award she also received last year).

The nominations of this year's Daytime Emmy Awards were announced on Monday and CBS dominated the list with 77 nominations.

Nominations were announced this morning on The Talk, and then by the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences on their website for the 43rd Annual Daytime Emmy Awards.

Leading the nominations with 27 was CBS. The Young and the Restless, followed by General Hospital with 24, and The Bold and the Beautiful with 23.  The awards ceremony will be held at the Westin Bonaventure Hotel and Suites in Los Angeles, California on Sunday, May 1st.   The Daytime Creative Arts Emmy Awards will also be held at the Bonaventure on Friday, April 29th, 2016.
