While the daytime soap genre continues its inexorable slide into oblivion — with only “Days of Our Lives,” “General Hospital,” “The Young and the Restless” and “The Bold and the Beautiful” remaining on broadcast TV — the genre has adapted, somewhat, to life elsewhere.“The Bay,” which streams on the Web, has just wrapped its second season on the Web and was nominated for a Daytime Emmy (in the Short Form Category). It stars two soap vets, Mary Beth Evans (“DOOL”) and Tristan Rogers (“GH”) and was the only Web soap to receive a Daytime Emmy nod this year.
